this makes me happy even though it does look a little odd. reminds me of life from death or beauty from ashes. very nice, original piece :3

This is a really intriguing and eye-catching concept but I feel I'd like it better if the toes were articulated on those feet. It would just give it more impact, rather than seeming to be mannequin feet. There seems to be a bit of a hard edge there too at the base but that is really negligible compared to the feet for me.

This is amazing, the concept, the technique, they're both perfect. The only thing that bothers me is that edge at the bottom. Nonetheless, this is awesome. :aww:

The white smoothly sharp boots (and lily(s)? Don't know my flowers...) work so well set against the crumped fading green background. Fav-get!

Incredibly unique work.

Admittedly; I haven't seen/read anything that's been so thought-provoking
[let alone original] in quite some time.

Well done indeed. :aww:

it's strange how some of the more original work is done easily. this one was like that; it just all fell into place...

thank you very much.

Though the blend (if intended) between the feet and the blood is rough. I don't know what you had in mind.

quite the wow. how do you do this? take a digital camera?
Reply
:iconplasticgiantcatbear:
plasticgiantcatbear Featured By Owner Nov 20, 2005
the crumpled bits and "dirt" are a scanned paper bag and some coffee left in a high resolution so that it doesnt look too blocky, the rest is done in Illustrator.

you can take a high res picture from a digital camera and achieve the same sort of style in Photoshop by playing around with layers, pen tools, and opacity. i'd recommend it, lots of fun.
